For many people who live interstate and overseas, Bondi Beach is synonymous with Sydney.
Its sun-kissed golden sands and rugged coastline are perhaps even more representative of the city than the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House or Sydney Harbour itself.
The focal point for the suburb is undoubtedly the wide, kilometre-long crescent of beach and consistently breaking surf, with Ben Buckler at one end, the Bondi Icebergs at the other, and Campbell Parade's restaurants, shops and hotels on the foreshore.
However, the residential area behind Campbell Parade remains a relatively quiet and highly sought-after precinct.
