Once again we are out and about giving back to our local community. 

Schools are back into full swing and we will be helping with many more fund raisers this year, with numerous sausage sizzles to raise money for much needed improvements.

Also this year we are happy to lend a helping hand to a local entrant in the transplant games being held on the Gold Coast later this year.  She has undergone a double transplant as a result of cystic fibrosis. We wish her all the best!!! Watch this space.

GOLD COAST BUSINESS COMMUNITY DIGS DEEP FOR BUSHFIRE VICTIMS …. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!!!!

The power of humanity has shone through despite the horrors of the Victorian bushfires, with $170 million dollars being donated by the Australian public so far.

Local Gold Coast businesses, including LJ Hooker and the Glades Golf and Spa, added over $22,000 to that amount following their successful Charity Golf day and auction.

Now they’re hoping to lend a hand to help the healing, and they’re calling on businesses to continue to dig deep, by assisting in putting together a Bushfire Victims Escape to the Gold Coast Package.

LJ Hooker Burleigh Heads is planning to give some of the 7,000 victims left homeless by the bushfires free accommodation in beachfront units, while the Glades have agreed to give free rounds of golf.

“We would like to get other Gold Coast businesses involved in this initiative. We’ve already raised a substantial amount of money for the fund, with these escape packages at least we will be able to witness first-hand the difference our help will make, especially for the kids who’ve been affected by this tragedy,” said Ross Paterson, Principal, LJ Hooker Burleigh Heads.

"We are hoping to contribute flights, tickets to theme parks, events, dinners, pretty much throw in the whole works for them.”

 It is hoped a number of families who’ve lost everything in the fires will be able to take advantage of this opportunity and escape the horrors of Black Saturday, even if it’s only for a few days.

 “We know they will never forget what has happened, we just hope an escape to the Gold Coast to experience all it has to offer will go some way towards helping them rebuild their lives and make a fresh start,” said Mr Paterson.

 According to the Red Cross, right now the victims left homeless are in urgent need of sheds and caravans so they have some form of shelter while they start the massive job rebuilding their homes and lives.
