LJ Hooker Kingston TAS

Leigh and Helen are the Principals of LJ Hooker Kingston, Leigh holding the position of Licensee.   Leigh commenced his career in the industry in 1990 with the management of several shopping centres in and around Hobart, including Northgate Shopping Centre.

After working within the Banking and Finance industry for 15 years, Leigh moved to Kingston in 1986 with his wife Helen and their 3 children, to work with an international group as their State Administration Manager within their State Office.

This experience, together with his formative years within the building industry has been invaluable in Leigh’s role as Property Portfolio Manager from 1995 to 2007.  In 1998, Leigh entered into partnership in the business and then in April 2007, together with Helen, purchased the full share of LJ Hooker Kingston.  Once Helen joined the business, her particular unique set of skills in management and administration complemented those of Leigh to form a great partnership and inject new life into the business.

Leigh has been actively involved with the REIT regarding legislative changes to the Residential Tenancy Act, which involved appearing before a Parliamentary Committee Hearing with regard to the act.

Helen retired from teaching Maths and Biology in the secondary/senior secondary area in 2005 after 32 successful and fulfilling years.   Leigh and Helen have been involved in the local community in various ways.  This includes contributing to the many school sports of their now adult children, Helen’s ongoing involvement through her teaching career with many members of the community, the foundation establishment of Kingborough Community Churches Care, now the local Fusion Centre and the local parish of St Clements.

In 2006, Life Member of Captain's Club was awarded to Leigh.  This recognises a top achiever year in, year out. To be a part of this Club you must achieve eleven years continuous membership to the Captain's Club, a prestigious club in itself.
