Location Description
Just off the Pacific Highway and 755 km north of Sydney is the village of Alstonville, nestled in the hills between Ballina and Lismore.
Like most of the NSW north coast, the area was settled by timber cutters.
One settler - John Pery - named his property after his wife, Annie Alston.
The rich fertile soils and subtropical climate of the region supports the cultivation of macadamia nuts, avocados, tropical fruits and coffee, potatoes and sugar cane.
Surrounding towns include Wollongbar, Teven & Tintenbar, Lismore, Casino and Ballina.
