Working with a Lawyer or Conveyancer

It’s best to work with a lawyer right from the beginning of your house hunting. Then they are on hand quickly if you find a house to buy or if there are any unexpected problems.

You should see your lawyer before signing any documents, to make sure that your best interests are protected.

Conveyancing

When you buy (or sell) a property the legal work that must be done to complete the transaction, such as transferring the ownership of the property, is called "conveyancing". The conveyancing system varies from country to country and state to state.

There are many contractual terms and conditions in a property transaction, and they each need to be explained and written clearly.

As well as the property transfer your lawyer can also explain other important things you may want to consider, such as making a will, tax issues, or setting up a trust.

If you are purchasing in NSW or WA LJ Hooker can assist you with your conveyance.
