Northern Territory job opportunities continue to surge

March 06, 2012

With present global conditions, some Australians may be worried about their current financial situation.

Citizens concerned about their future might be wondering where they can find the best place to gain employment and invest in residential property.

The answer for some of those people could lie in the Northern Territory, where commercial property investment has been flowing into the region.

Recent numbers from ANZ bank reveal growth in newspaper job advertisements - a phenomenon that eludes the rest of the country.

Treasurer Delia Lawrie reported that NT job ads had an annual increase of 21.8 per cent for the month of February and was the only state to record a rise from the previous year.

Nationally, job ads decreased annually by 22.3 per cent - marking the 15th consecutive decline.

Ms Lawrie said: "With strong economic growth, low unemployment, the lowest business taxes in the nation and a huge pipeline of investment one fact is clear; if you want a job, the Territory is the place to be."

Jobs available in the region vary in skills and educational requirements, attracting a wide range of employment seekers.
