Queensland aiming for green space and green communities

Brisbane is to undergo a five-kilometre expansion of recreational riverside land over the next 15 to 20 years. The effort will involve re-locating commercial industries in the area in order to increase parkland and green space.
Meanwhile, minister for agriculture, fisheries and forestry, senator Joe Ludwig, and parliamentary secretary Sid Sidebottom recently advised communities to take advantage of substantial funds available from the Caring for our Country initiative.
Financial grants between $5,000 and $20,000 are being awarded to communities in Queensland to assist in the well-being of the local environment.
