Sunshine Coast Council streamlines planning conditions
Residential property owners, as well as those who are considering residential land subdivision, are among those who will benefit from streamlined changes to development approvals on the Sunshine Coast.
This week (April 10), Sunshine Coast Council's director of development services Julie Edwards asserted that simplified planning conditions are in everyone's best interest.
"Planning conditions take into account a range of issues such as environmental impacts, noise levels, traffic and infrastructure," she explained.
Edwards added: "The reduced number of conditions and simplified language will make it easier for recipients of planning approvals to get on with the job."
New planning conditions now apply to unit developments, shopping centres and residential land subdivision, as well as Reconfiguring of Lot and Material Change of Use applications.
Sunshine Coast Council is now preparing for future applications across Sippy Downs, Palmview, Maroochydore and Kawana Master Plan areas.
The news of streamlined planning conditions follows another innovation from the local authority - an after-hours plumbing inspection service for commercial and residential business developments in the area.
Flexible inspection times are available around-the-clock and helps to meet the needs of property owners who cannot arrange plumbing inspections during normal business hours.
