60 properties set to go under the hammer on one night
Over 60 properties will be auctioned by the nation’s leading real estate brand LJ Hooker at special spring auction nights with one lucky vendor jetting off to an overseas holiday.
LJ Hooker will hold the inaugural ACT ADvantage Auction nights on Wednesday, September 9 and Wednesday September 16 which will include properties listed by 10 LJ Hooker offices, including; Belconnen, Canberra City, Dickson ,Gungahlin, Kaleen, Kippax, Manuka, Queanbeyan, Project Marketing ACT, Tuggeranong, Weston Creek and Home Loans ACT.
Ben Mitchell, ACT state manager at LJ Hooker said the event is shaping up to be an auction night never before seen in the area, with over 600 buyers expected to attend.
“LJ Hooker has an undeniable strength in the ACT selling one in every five properties listed. With the strength of 10 offices coming together – which has never been done in the entire network – this event will be a highlight of our calendar,” he said.
“We currently auction over 880 properties annually and with the current market conditions it's a great chance for our vendors to achieve the best results.”
According to Mr Mitchell the campaign, which began in early July, will jump start the competition in the traditionally hot spring season.
“Nationally spring is a very buoyant time for real estate and in the nation’s capital it is no different,” he said.
“We see a lift in properties coming onto the market and buyers come out in force, this campaign will set your property apart from the rest.”
Those who list their property for sale with one of the 10 participating LJ Hooker offices will go into the draw to win a European getaway valued at $10,000. All vendors will also receive reduced rates and special offers for vendor paid advertising and opening bidders on the night will be gifted a bottle of wine.
“We are aiming for at least 60 properties to go under the hammer that night, so essentially if you list with LJ Hooker this spring you have a one in 60-odd chance to win a $10,000 trip away. Not bad odds,” he said.
The auction night comes at a time when auction clearance rates in the ACT are at long term average high at 68 per cent, according to the latest LJ Hooker myMarket report.
The night will be a black tie event held at the Audi Centre Canberra and the overseas holiday will be drawn on night.
