Make sure your rental property is well connected
There are many things that people take for granted in their home that can often be overlooked when it comes to looking at rental properties.
For example, the rental property you have your eye on might not have a phone connection, so you will need to make sure of this before you sign the contract and hand over the bond.
The best thing to do is ask the landlord or letting agent to make the necessary arrangements, otherwise you could find yourself forking out hundreds of dollars just to get your new home connected.
Many rental properties will come with television aerial connections - but not all.
If you particularly enjoy vegetating in front of the box, then ensure there is at least one television aerial socket in the front room and any other area you may want to watch in.
Once you have moved into the property, it is your obligation to ask permission to add any sockets or connections, otherwise you will likely be in breach of your contract.
Doing the necessary research beforehand can save you a whole lot of hassle further down the line.
