Dandenong public transport receives boost

June 28, 2012

Buying a house is one of the largest financial commitments you will make and home buyers will take this job very seriously, making sure that the property suits their needs.

There are number of important things to consider when deciding to purchase your home, including the proximity to schools, public transport and amenities.

Whether you are a first time buyer or looking to move home, Victorians looking at purchasing residential property may be attracted to the Dandenong area after a major infrastructure project was announced yesterday (June 27).

Victorian minister for planning Matthew Guy announced the $700,000 development, which will see upgrades to the Dandenong railway station and bus interchange - significantly improving public transport in the region.

Mr Guy commented: "Access to this important transport hub is vital for it to operate effectively and efficiently and will ensure that the central activities area is well connected."

Improvements to infrastructure works at the bus interchange to boost capacity levels and the relocation of traffic signals will form part of the project.

Mr Guy said the development, which would also improve access to the railway station and bus interchange for disability persons, will benefit local residents with more efficient public transport services.
