Brisbane train system receives $18m revamp
Adequacy of infrastructure and public transport in an area are key considerations for any prospective buyer to keep in mind when looking for a residential property purchase.
With this in mind, Queenslanders looking at buying a house in the state's capital city may be interested in the government's plans to overhaul the Ferny Grove train line.
Announcing the delivery of 28 new daily train services on the line, state transport and main roads minister Scott Emerson said the improved public transport system will be a major boon to Brisbane commuters and Ferny Grove residents.
"The new services would operate through the CBD to Park Road station on the Beenleigh line, also providing more off-peak weekday options on the southern side of the river," Mr Emerson explained.
Member for Ferny Grove Dal Shuttleworth said the $18 million revamp of the train system will have a knock-on effect to the region's road network, with improved services likely to attract more people to public transport and reduce congestion on roads.
He commented: "A train every 15 minutes or better inbound and outbound on the Ferny Grove line during off peak on weekdays, now means frequent public transport is never far away."
Trains will now run from Ferny Grove station every 15 minutes from 0900 to 1500 every day.
