Councils promote buying a house in regional Victoria
Victorian towns and regions were showcased over the weekend (April 19, 20 and 21) at the Regional Victoria Living Expo.
The 48 regional and rural councils came together to promote the benefits of the residential real estate opportunities in the area.
Minister for Local Government Jeanette Powell said: "The Victorian coalition government continues to work with local councils, businesses and community leaders to encourage people to move to one of the many terrific communities in regional Victoria."
Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the expo gave Melburnians looking to buy a house in regional Victoria the information they needed to best decide which location would help them reach their goals in housing, education and careers.
"With more than 130 exhibitors under the one roof at the Expo, it's easy to explore what is on offer and help attract new residents, skilled workers, business and investment to regional Victoria," Mrs Powell explained.
The expo also offered visitors the chance to hear from special appearances from sports stars like cricketers Clint McKay and Anna Lanning, and footballer Brad Ottens.
As an annual event, councils will soon begin to prepare for next year's expo to continue the campaign for buying a rural property or living in regional Victoria.
