Premier Barry O'Farrell said the $46 million Richmond Road project will ensure the main thoroughfare supports new housing and jobs in the area.
"Richmond Road is a key arterial road for the north-west growth centre – it will link the new residential and employment lands to the M7," the premier said.
"Families buying a new home in Sydney's growth areas want to know the government will deliver the essential infrastructure like upgraded roads to make these neighbourhoods function."
Mr O'Farrell went on to say that the development will support the projected delivery of more than 10,000 jobs in 12,000 homes in western Sydney.
