Gold Coast development to boost employment and housing
Development of the Gold Coast region in the lead-up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games is surging ahead with announcement of three new projects earmarked for the area.
The Gold Coast City Council announced on June 20 that the development of a low-rise apartment building, a new marina at Hope Island and a five-building apartment complex in Palm Beach had been approved.
As a knock-on effect of the projects there will be a significant creation in jobs and housing - boosting the region's economy.
With more than 117 three-bedroom apartments to be built in the Palm Beach project and a further 16 one-bedroom apartments in Surfers Paradise, people looking to purchase an investment property may be attracted to the area.
The region's booming development in the lead-up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games may appeal to people interested in property investment.
City councillor Cameron Caldwell said: "The Palm Beach development, in particular, is a significant one that will make a welcome improvement to the area."
"Together, these three projects will create hundreds of jobs." Mr Caldwell said.
