Entire Melbourne suburb for sale
An as yet undeveloped western suburb on the outskirts of Melbourne is for sale - presenting significant opportunity for those interested in property investment in the area.
According to a Smart Company report, the suburb, which covers 555 hectares of land, is located next to the dormant volcanoes Mount Atkinson and Mount Cottrel.
The land parcel, located 25 kilometres north-west of the Victorian capital, is being marketed as a land investment opportunity for developers to create a new community, comprising of industrial and business uses, as well as residential and retail prospects.
A Melbourne housing development plan released earlier this year, outlined the site as having the potential to deliver medium and high density housing, a business and industrial precinct as well as a town centre.
Real estate services firm CBRE are marketing the site - with it being aimed at both national and international developers.
Tom Hayes, of CBRE, said the land, which hasn't been fixed with a price, would be sold through a request for proposals campaign, with the deadline closing next month.
He commented: "The massive scale of this opportunity will guarantee the successful purchaser of the opportunity to make their mark on Melbourne."
