New job means new home opportunities

April 24, 2012

When considering career progression, professionals often take into account a range of external factors that do not relate directly to a new role but are nonetheless an important part of their overall lifestyle choices.

Some employment opportunities have an element of relocation that is obvious from the outset - a job that is interstate, for example, will require the candidate to pack up and find a new home.

However, just because a new role is closer to home does not mean that you have to forego the opportunity to review your accommodation.

Getting a new job also often means an increase in wages or salary that can be put to use in a number of ways - particularly in terms of upgrading your residential situation.

Having experienced the property market as a first time buyer, you may feel ready to begin exploring the opportunity a new role brings in terms of either upgrading your home or even buying a new house.

On the other hand, it may be more beneficial to investigate renting a property closer to your new position - reducing transit times and helping to improve the quality of life out-of-hours.
