Law Society launches property buying and selling guides
Purchasing residential property is a huge financial commitment, therefore it is vital that buyers know exactly what they are getting into before signing on the dotted line.
The Law Society has recognised the challenges that face people on the road to homeownership, releasing two free online guides to clarify key information regarding the buying and selling process in New South Wales.
Law Society president Justin Dowd said it was imperative that people understand the legal obligations related to real estate transactions to ensure processes are followed correctly.
"Making a mistake or misunderstanding the legal requirements when buying or selling property can have a significant impact on your finances and lifestyle," Mr Dowd explained.
"Buying or selling a home is often the biggest financial decisions we'll ever make, especially in a city like Sydney, where property prices can be astronomical. It is therefore important that if you are thinking of buying or selling a property you should get in touch with a solicitor as soon as possible so that they can talk you through the process and advise you on how to proceed."
Available from the Law Society website, the guides will help people understand the different processes involved in property transactions, breaking down jargon into layman's terms.
