Childcare services improved in Bicheno
Parents of young children who are looking for access to great childcare services in Tasmania may want to consider purchasing residential property in Bicheno.
The town, which is located on the east coast of the island, recently welcomed the Little Penguins Early Learning Centre on the grounds of Bicheno Primary School.
The Tasmanian government provided $650,000 for the centre, which is expected to be warmly welcomed by parents in the area.
Labor member for Lyons Rebecca White said that even people living in remote and rural property will be able to take advantage of all the facility has to offer.
She commented: "Access to quality child care is vital for parents, and it also has many benefits for children, such as providing a stimulating environment where children can learn through playing and increase their confidence."
Children will be able to benefit from before and after school care, as well as participate in activities at the adjoining school.
Minister for education Nick McKim recently revealed that more children in Tasmania attend government schools than anywhere else in Australia - 71 per cent compared to the 65 per cent national average.
