Q&A Selling your home

January 31, 2012

Q: Our furniture does not reflect our modern home - should we hire furniture to dress the property for open houses?

Answer: If the home is in the more expensive price ranges, say over half a million dollars then hiring furniture to dress the house could be considered.

Alternatively here are our tips you can implement without a lot of cost.

Firstly, declutter- if you don’t need it in the next month or so then move it out.

Have only minimal pieces of furniture in each room, so that at least the intending buyers will be able to appreciate the size of the room.

‘Spring clean’ everything and keep your home tidy and clean.

Have a working bee in the garden and remove any rubbish, make the gardens tidy and keep a little bit of extra water on them, to keep them fresh.

Remember, the better the presentation the more likely it is to sell quickly and achieve you the best possible price.
