Question about showing off
November 01, 2012
Question: When I sell my investment property, how do I go about getting my tenant to show it off at its best?
Answer: Treating tenants respectfully is important. They may feel threatened by the sale so at LJ Hooker we put them at ease that their lease is firm and give them some influence over inspection times.
Also, tenants sometimes feel that the sale is of no importance to them, so we help them understand the benefit to them of presenting the property well.
The benefit is that they will find a good landlord, because well-presented properties attract better landlords.
A good tenant is also an asset to a future landlord. They will be putting themselves on show if they present the home well, assisting them will secure their future when it comes to a lease renewal down the track.
