Rental yields strengthen
The Australian newspaper last month reported a strengthening of gross rental yields across both homes and units.
Across Australia’s capitals, the average gross rental yield for homes was 4.1%, while units generated 4.9%.
The strengthening of rental yields has come on the back of a bottoming in house prices in many cities, and record low interest rates. Again, Darwin led the nation’s rental yields, fuelled by resources investment in the Northern Territory.
