Two new schools open in the ACT
Young families looking to buy residential real estate in the ACT may be interested to learn about the opening of two new government schools in North Gungahlin this week.
Attending Franklin Early Childhood School's first day of operation yesterday (February 5), territory minister for education and training Joy Burch said the facility is a major boon for the people of Canberra.
"Franklin is the first purpose built early childhood school in the ACT and I'm sure students, parents and staff will be delighted by this new state-of-the-art facility," Ms Burch explained.
The new institution will accommodate approximately 300 students from preschool to Year 2 - providing more schooling options in the region as a result.
The minister went on to say the official opening of Neville Bonner Primary School - also in North Gungahlin - will further bolster education opportunities in the ACT.
"Students are also enjoying stage 1 of the $48.1 million Neville Bonner Primary School, and when stage 2 is completed the enrolment capacity of the North Gungahlin region will increase to 818 student places."
The new facilities will support one of the fastest growing urban areas in the territory - potentially attracting more homebuyers to the area.
