Social media becomes a valuable real estate platform
Selling a house? Why not enhance your chances of a sale by listing it on social media?
Australian homeowners are turning to the newest real estate platform to market their homes, Housenet - a social media site dedicated to residential property.
Creator, Sydney mortgage broker Darren Moffatt, said Housenet is a unique site that allows people to generate their own profiles, list rentals or property sales, write blogs and posts, partake in forums and online discussions and 'follow' real estate agents.
"The main property sites are fantastic and do a great job but you can't have the experience within them," Mr Moffatt told News Limited.
"On the flipside, Facebook and other social media don't do property well. So we want to fill that gap."
Mr Moffatt said Housenet isn't a competitor of mainstream real estate sites, but a different platform that may be used to enhance traditional methods.
"What we are trying to do is create a new category, social medial real estate," he added.
The site, which has already attracted a surge of members, is an industry network comprising real estate agents, solicitors, buyers, sellers and mortgage brokers.
