Something to think about...
The 2011 Australian Census recorded 10 per cent of Australian residences as unoccupied.
It is difficult to be accurate about some 830,000 empty homes. Perhaps renovations are underway.
Perhaps it is a holiday home. Perhaps it is only temporarily unoccupied.
Perhaps it is between tenants.
Perhaps it has even been abandoned.
It is not unusual for family homes to sit unoccupied after owners move into nursing homes, for example.
It is quite possible that at least some of these empty homes could be better thought of as an investment and rented out, even if for the short term.
Empty nest becomes a nest egg...
it’s just a thought!
