Australian property lures Canadian investors
Canadian pension funds are increasingly being sunk into the Australian property and infrastructure market, according to The Trust Company.
As stated by Andrew Cannane, the outfit's general manager of corporate clients, Canadians are already heavily invested in their own country, and are now reaching out to international property investment opportunities.
"Coupled with Australia's reputation as a safe investment haven, its robust regulatory regime, the relative strength of the Australian economy, and the attractive yields of property and infrastructure assets relative to international markets, Australian infrastructure ticks all the boxes" says Cannane.
Not counting tax havens, Australia is now the third largest global destination for Canadian investors.
With latest figures from Australian Bureau of Statistics showing unemployment still at a comparatively low 5.4 per cent, and general consensus that Australia weathered the global financial crisis better than most, it is hardly surprising that foreign investors are interested in the country.
With international confidence in Australian commercial property investment and land investment, as well as the high quality of the assets for sale, locals may wish to get hold of some of the great opportunities right here in Australia.
