Tricky tenant trouble
You’ve decided the time’s right to sell your investment home but the tenant’s not necessarily encouraging you. They’ve been such good tenants they don’t want to risk the prospect of moving then finding another place to live. After all, they’ve become quite settled.
So what do you do to keep the peace but also move forward with your own agenda?
- Respect their privacy and understand it’s a time of uncertainty for them
- Give as much notice as you can before inspections (some states legislate this)
- Consider financial compensation during the open for inspection campaign
- A further enticement could be a reward if the property sells within a certain time frame.
