Victorian households to receive energy boost
The launch of a new electricity campaign in Victoria will boost savings and ease living costs for residential property dwellers across the state.
Announcing the Switch On campaign yesterday (August 6), state energy and resources minister Michael O'Brien said the initiative will encourage and support Victorian households to maximise their energy savings.
"The Switch On campaign is designed to give households information and practical tools to help them manage their consumption and bills with advice on energy efficiency, shopping around for the best retail deal and how to access Coalition government initiatives," Mr O'brien explained.
Keeping Victorians better informed about energy usage will assist households increase their savings amid rising living costs.
As a part of the Switch On operation, a new website dedicated to the campaign will provide energy savings tools and tips, an energy calculator and advice on how to find the best energy retailer.
Mr O'Brien said: "While the federal Labor government has increased families' power bills with the carbon tax, the Victorian Coalition government is assisting families to reduce their energy bills through energy efficiency and advice programs such as Switch On."
