Regional Victoria receives $26m health boost
The proximity and quality of health services in a region is an integral factor to keep in mind when looking to purchase residential property.
This is even truer for homebuyers looking to buy rural real estate, with vital services and amenities located long distances from remote areas.
With this in mind, Victorians looking to purchase property in the state's regional areas may be interested in a multimillion-dollar hospital redevelopment underway in Coleraine.
State minister for health David Davis officially opened the Thomas Hodgetts Primary Care Centre yesterday (September 20) - the first stage of work on the $25.8 million Coleraine Hospital project.
The new facility will bolster medical services in the region, providing the local community with quality health facilities in close proximity.
"The new Coleraine Hospital will be a one-stop health facility to service the community of Coleraine and the surrounding district well into the future," Mr Davis explained.
"The first phase, a new primary care centre being opened today, includes a medical clinic for general practitioners, facilities for maternal and child health, dental, and pathology services and two consulting rooms."
The project is part of the Western District Health Service's capital development program to improve and upgrade medical facilities across the state.
