Things to consider…

  • Sort out your finances (ask your agent about an LJ Hooker Home Loan).   
  • Pay any application, establishment, valuation or Government fees.
  • Organise mortgage insurance if applicable.
  • If buying at Auction, a pre-approved loan is the best way to go, then you know exactly how high you can bid
  • Have you 10% deposit ready
When you have found the property you want:
  • Ask the agent for a copy of the sale contract and for a copy to be sent to your solicitor (depending on State laws).
  • Organise a building/pest inspection if you wish.
After your offer or bid has been accepted:
  • You will be required to pay a 10% deposit, if you do not complete the sale you will forfeit this deposit – so be sure!
  • Discuss the requirements for settlement with your solicitor
  • Organise a pre-settlement inspection with the agent if you require one
  • On settlement day confirm with your solicitor settlement has occurred
  • Pick up the keys to your new home!
