- Because you will probably see several properties it is a good idea to record your impressions of each one.
- When you have the accommodation you want to rent you will probably need to fill in an application form, which usually includes details of: name, address & phone number, occupation, employer, monthly income and two or more referees.
- Make sure you read the tenancy agreement carefully and ask for advice about anything you don’t understand. Make sure once you have signed you receive a copy of the agreement.
- Usually at the time of signing the agreement you will be required to pay some rent in advance and a bond. The bond is normally 4 weeks rent, although this can vary from property to property.
- The next step once these are complete is the move.
- Once you have moved in your agent will ask you to complete a Condition Report. This allows you to detail the condition of the property at the time you move in, so that at the end of the tenancy there is can be little dispute over the original condition of the property.
