A survey of LJ Hooker tenants provides an interesting perspective on life in the rental market.
Once tenants successfully find a property, they generally like to stay in it for an extended period.
According to the survey of almost 6700 respondents, 40 per cent of tenants had only had two addresses over the past five years.
Of the group, 29 per cent had only had a single address.
At the other end of the spectrum, only five percent of respondents had lived in five or more properties in the last five years – an average of one property per year.
And the major priority for tenants in choosing a property was its location, followed by price, value for money, size and cleanliness.
