Week 10 - recap: Gone fishing, reflecting, recharging and getting out of Sydney
Wow, and in a flash I am already looking back and reflecting on week 10 of my internship (just three weeks to go)!
The weeks are going so fast and already, I feel like I have been on an amazing, but steep learning journey.
It was business as usual in week 10. I followed Bill and Sophie to more stunning, prestige properties and met more interesting and distinguished people, I did some cold calling and assisted at open homes.
I also had the opportunity to sit down with LJ Hooker’s Head of Digital, Drew McTavish from head office who took me through all of LJ Hooker’s digital offering and I was so impressed! LJ Hooker provides everything you could ever require to do an amazing job in real estate; from social media advertising, to website, to search engine optimisation, plus backend help for open for inspections and customer relationship management systems. I’m not a tech savvy person but these products are designed with an agent in mind so can be easily picked up and put in a business.
In NSW we celebrated the Labour Day long weekend and leading into the break I felt I needed to get back to my roots and recharge and reflect on my whirlwind last 10 weeks. So I packed up Butch (my Maltese Terrier), my fishing rod and jumped in my Audi and headed home to Crookwell for the long weekend. I’ve loved every minute of being in Sydney, but there isn’t anything quite like the fresh air and beautiful Australian countryside. Bill’s a big believer in getting away and recharging, so he encouraged me to take the time.
Before I left for the weekend Bill and Sophie put time aside to swap ideas on what could be my next career step. We discussed what I was looking for and different options in front me within LJ Hooker.
Bill amazed me (yet again) when he came into the office with a big grin on his face and said he had made some calls to other Franchise Owners within the network to speak to them about me. I was so humbled that he took the time to do that for me!
On Monday afternoon after the long weekend, I was a woman on a mission! I came bouncing back to Sydney with a plan and a direction. More on that in my next blog – tune in!
Thanks for following my journey.
