Week 12 recap - I just never believed this was possible!

Week 12 recap - I just never believed this was possible!

By Tahnee Barnes on Oct 20 2017

‘Change your life in 12 weeks’ sounds like something from a weight-loss spruiker. But hand to my heart that’s precisely what this internship has been; a life-changing event.

My life is near unrecognisable since I started the Million Dollar Intern internship 12 weeks ago.

I’ve gone from a country girl, ex-soldier to working in the highest-end value property market in Australia!

Everything has changed; from the way I present myself, my clothes, my ideas and even my future aspirations. This fantastic opportunity has opened my eyes and showed me that with enough effort, and if you allow for change, you can achieve anything.

If you asked me two years ago where I thought I would be today, I would have never for one second thought I would be starting my dream career, let alone be LJ Hooker’s Million Dollar Intern. I could not have guessed that I’d move to Sydney, work alongside Bill Malouf, live in Bondi, drive an Audi, and day-after-day be blown away by the most stunning and prestigious properties in Australia.

For that, I will be forever grateful to everyone involved in the Million Dollar Internship, and I am so pleased to say that LJ Hooker has been named a finalist in the AREA Awards (run by realestate.com.au) Brand Campaign of the Year for Million Dollar Intern! (Bill and I got to practise our best smiles at the awards photoshoot which was a lot of fun and even though we both do not like the idea of being models, we nailed it.)

I have identified that this industry is not an easy one to excel in, it’s bloody hard work. However, now that I have had this incredible opportunity I couldn’t possibly imagine doing anything else, and I am just so excited for my future in real estate.

Next week is my last week with Bill and the LJ Hooker Double Bay team and my last blog!

As always, thanks for sharing my journey.
