Selling and buying a house is no longer the headache it once was for Queenslanders after the government's abolishment of red tape that has "strangled the property sector for too long".
The Queensland government celebrated today (July 3) 100 days since implementing new measures that have eased the struggling sector to improve its stability and affordability for homeowners.
Treasurer Tim Nicholls said legislative changes to the property sector have not only made buying and selling a property financially easier for Queenslanders - the process had become simpler with the eradication of complex paperwork and declarations.
Member for Pumicestone Lisa France said: "Not only are we reducing the cost of owning a home and operating a business, the Newman government is also reducing the green and red tape that's strangled the property sector for too long."
Mr Nicholl said reduced costs for homebuyers in Queensland included the abolishment of $7,000 off the cost of buying a property by restoring the principal place of residence transfer duty concession.
"Today marks a major check-point for the LNP - 100 days since we were elected with a mandate to reduce the cost of living for Queensland families and build a four pillar economy," he explained.
