Queensland's Sunshine Coast is a magnet for tourists. The weather, the beaches and the scenery are just some of the attractions that bring travellers to the area.
Commercial and residential real estate in the region is at a premium, especially when it comes to properties located close to the beach.
The announcement regarding new flights to the coast from New Zealand is likely to bring even more visitors to the area.
Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand have partnered up to create a cross Tasman alliance - the first international service to operate from the Sunshine Coast Airport.
The direct route will commence July 1 and carry on through until September 18, starting out on a seasonal basis. The airline will fly Tuesdays and Sundays each week and will allow passengers to connect to domestic or international destinations without hassle.
Tourism is a lucrative industry in the sunshine state, boasting a direct contribution of $7.8 billion dollars into the economy in 2011.
Australians love to holiday in Queensland - and so do Kiwis. Soon, they may be seeing more of each other.
