The proximity of adequate health care services is an important consideration for families when purchasing a new dwelling.

Homeowners interested in buying a property in Perth may be attracted to the city's south-western suburbs with the new Fiona Stanley Hospital due to open in the area in 2014.

State health minister Kim Hames unveiled a short film on August 11 revealing the new state-of-the-art facilities of the new hospital.

He commented: "Everyone can see Fiona Stanley Hospital as they travel along the Kwinana Freeway but they may not realise just how different this hospital will be.

"This isn't a big, faceless building. It has been carefully planning in consultation with clinicians to make sure patients and staff have access to the best, most convenient resources and can find their way around easily."

Residential property dwellers around the new 783-bed Murdoch facility will benefit from increased health services, including a separate emergency entrance for adults and children.

More than 80 per cent of rooms at the $2 billion hospital will be single with an ensuite - providing patients a more personal medical experience vital to their recovery.

Mr Hames said the six-minute movie would provide vital information to Perth residents about the new medical centre and its facilities.
