LJ Hooker recognised its top international offices in an awards evening attended by more than 800 people on Saturday, with its Mosman office receiving the top honour of World Champion Office.

It is the third time LJ Hooker Mosman has won the prestigious title within the group, and was awarded following a stellar 12 months in which they topped the network of almost 700 offices across the combined income streams of sales, leasing and property management.

LJ Hooker Mosman is led by Directors Geoff Smith and Richard Harding.

LJ Hooker CEO and Managing Director Georg Chmiel said the Mosman office was consistently a top performer across the group’s Australian and New Zealand offices.

“Whether it’s selling, leasing or managing property investments, the team at LJ Hooker Mosman provides service and results that are leading the way in the real estate market,’’ said Mr Chmiel.

“Such excellence comes from exceptional leadership, and LJ Hooker Mosman’s directors are leaders not only in their office, but in the real estate industry at large.

“To win the coveted LJ Hooker World Champion Office title is a stunning achievement, but to win it three times illustrates the passion and unrelenting drive the team has.’’

Queensland’s LJ Hooker Sunnybank Hills and Cleveland offices took out second and third places in the World Champion Office category, respectively.

Two of the top 10 World Champion offices came from New Zealand – Whangarei (4th place) and Palmerston North (5th place).

In other major awards, announced at LJ Hooker’s International Awards evening, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brendan Smith from LJ Hooker City Residential in Western Australia took home the award of World Champion Salesperson for gross commission; Jeannie Boswell from LJ Hooker Palmerston North recorded the most number of transactions by a salesperson; and Sunnybank Hills facilitated the most number of sales by an office.

The Sir Leslie Hooker Award – named in honour of the company founder – was conferred to Matthew Herbert. The award recognises contributions of a franchise owner to the community, the real estate network, and the mentoring of staff.

Canberra-based Mr Herbert has been with LJ Hooker for more than 31 years, is an LJ Hooker Admiral, and a member of the 21 Club and Franchise Owners Council. He previously won the Sir Leslie Hooker Award in 2007. He is a director of seven LJ Hooker offices, one of the largest privately owned groups of offices in the network.
