Prospective homebuyers looking to snap up rural property in Queensland's Mary Valley region, may be interested in several land lots due to go to auction later this month.
Deputy premier and minister for state development, infrastructure and planning Jeff Seeney said the eight Mary Valley properties, which will go under the hammer in Gympie on March 23, have already generated significant interest in the market place.
"Our aim is to restore the Mary Valley as the vibrant community it once was, before Labor ripped it apart with its failed plan for the Traveston Dam," Mr Seeney explained.
"It worked well last time and, judging by the interest shown in this new round of properties, should result in another successful outcome."
The Helmsman auction system allows would-be buyers to bid for several properties at once or move their bid between sales - a method that aims to ensure competition remains fair.
The latest round of auctions comes after several high-quality acreage lots in the area were sold in December last year.
With more than 1,800 people registering their interest for the scheme, next week's sales are likely to generate a similar result.
