LJH Commercial Hobart has strategically bolstered its presence and services for Tasmanian clients announcing today it has acquired the local real estate businesses currently trading as Raine & Horne Hobart and Raine & Horne Commercial.

This acquisition will ensure LJ Hooker has a decisive market share in the local real estate market giving it greater reach to residents, investors and developers.

Managing director of LJH Commercial Hobart, Mark Devine, has said “the acquisition is an important step for us.”

“It will bring a further 1,000 investment properties under our management and assist our clients wishing to sell, buy and rent both residential and commercial properties,” he said.

“The Raine & Horne Hobart office has been a successful business with a great team behind it and we are confident we will continue to build and expand on that foundation.”

The acquisition will see LJ Hooker having five key offices in and around the immediate area being Hobart, Glenorchy, Kingston, Margate and Bellerive.

“We have been in Tasmania for 50 years representing its residents,” Mark says. “And we have built a solid reputation of continuing to evolve, setting new benchmarks and being an industry leader.

“We see improving times for the Tasmanian property market and it’s great to be part of that.”

Mark Devine’s comments are backed up by the latest Australian Industry Group and the Housing Industry Association showing that there had been three consecutive months of growth in construction work throughout Australia.

House building rose 1.5 points to 63.5 points, the second highest rate of expansion since the index began in September 2005.

“Both the residential and commercial markets have been stable but we see plenty of potential there for growth in the next few years.”

As for the year ahead, Mr. Devine sees the acquisition as a vote of confidence in the Tasmanian economy, “housing in Tasmania is the most affordable in Australia.”

“We have taken on an extra 25 staff as a result of the acquisition which confirms our commitment and confidence in the property industry in Tasmania.”

“We are a trusted name in property and we want Tasmanians to see us as their first choice in all things property – commercial and residential.”

“We look forward to opening the doors and the new chapter from the 1st of February 2014.”
