The Humpty Dumpty Foundation and LJ Hooker Nelson Bay, in association with the LJ Hooker Foundation, have answered the plea of John Hunter Children’s Hospital’s frontline with the donation of five BBraun Perfusor Space Springe Drivers valued at $2,500 each for Ward J2 Adolescents, Day Stay and Paediatric Sleep Unit.

The BBraun Perfusor Space Springe Drivers are used to measure small amounts of medication intravenously for children who require specialised medications particularly diabetics (insulin infusions), septic shock (inotropes), pain relief and sedation for various conditions for very unwell children.

LJ Hooker Nelson Bay Director Jason Brennan said: “We are thrilled to be able to assist the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and support a local hospital directly with our fundraising. The John Hunter Children’s Hospital is very close to all our hearts at LJ Hooker Nelson Bay and it gives us great pride to know that we’re helping to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Our Charity Dinner held in February, when we could freely get together pre-COVID, exceeded our expectations not only because we doubled our fundraising target, but because we were able to bring together our amazing community. Thank you to all of those that gave so generously including our sponsors, customers, friends and local businesses,” he said.

“It is with thanks to the generosity of donors like LJ Hooker Nelson Bay, and the ongoing support of the LJ Hooker Foundation, that the Humpty Dumpty Foundation can urgently respond to the pleas from the frontline and make a real difference to hospitals and healthcare services across Australia.  Now more than ever, hospitals and healthcare services need Humpty’s help and it is important we continue our critical work of providing essential and often life-saving medical equipment to metropolitan and regional areas like Newcastle to ease the load on our frontline professionals,” said Paul Francis OAM, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
