A 30-year real estate industry veteran will soon take over the flourishing LJ Hooker Laurieton office, with an aim to expand the business within the next 12 months.
Experienced real estate specialist Wayne Heilman, who currently owns LJ Hooker Cowra will take over the 13 year-old local business.
“The Laurieton market seems to be going from strength-to-strength with demand outstripping supply,” he said.
“Laurieton has a lot to offer investors and attracts huge attention from retirees looking for affordable housing, a relaxed community and close proximity to major amenities.”
Mr Heilman admits the business takeover wasn’t just a career step-up but also had personal appeal for his family.
“I’ve worked and lived in the country all my life so when the opportunity came up to live by the ocean my wife and I jumped at the chance,” he said.
“This is our own personal sea change as well as a great business opportunity. All facets of Laurieton appeal to my family and I look forward to becoming part of the community.”
LJ Hooker Laurieton will operate business as usual with Mr Heilman and his wife Leanne operating the sales department, existing senior property manager Freya Stennett staying on to look after landlord and tenant matters, while Erin Bell will come on the team as an administration officer.
The agency will cater for the full suite of real estate services including; residential real estate, property investment management, commercial, rural and industrial sales, auctions, LJ Hooker Home Loans and business buying.
Mr Heilman says he will be looking to grow the sales and rental departments.
“Within the first year we will hope to bring on another experienced local real estate agent to service Laurieton and the surrounding areas,” he said.
“Growing our rent roll will also be a major focus for the property investment team.”
According to RP Data the median house price in Laurieton is $362,500 while units in the area on average cost around $579,000.
Current owner Chris Flockhart, who took over the business last year, will move to focus on growing the LJ Hooker Wauchope agency, which has thrived since coming under the LJ Hooker brand.
As of August 1 the change of management will take place.
