Regional migration and demand for coastal living in Victoria is behind LJ Hooker’s expansion into the popular townships of Lakes Entrance and Metung, in the fast-growing East Gippsland region.

The new office has been opened by licensee Kaye Wyndham-Martin, who has already established a market-leading presence in nearby Paynesville. She will now operate from two separate locations and has rebranded the business as LJ Hooker Paynesville | Lakes Entrance | Metung.

“We are seeing strong demand from a range of buyers, including retirees seeking a coastal lifestyle, young families drawn to the relaxed community feel, and Melbourne-based buyers looking for a weekend escape or future seachange, as well as investors,” Ms Wyndham-Martin said.

“Several active real estate agencies are already in the Lakes Entrance and Metung area, reflecting a vibrant and active market. Our point of difference lies in the professionalism and consistency we bring under the LJ Hooker brand, delivering a structured, detail oriented and client-focus approached, ensuring everyone receives the same high standard of service.”

Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, congratulated Ms Wyndham-Martin on identifying a new opportunity for Australia’s most iconic real estate brand in a high-growth regional hotspot.

“Kaye is a long-time local who has an affinity with the area, and with more than 40 years of experience in business, sales, and real estate, she knows the market incredibly well,” Mr Keating said.

“Many LJ Hooker licensees have expanded into neighbouring towns, which allows them to tap into new clients, grow the brand and boost revenue — while leveraging existing reputation and resources.

“There is also an LJ Hooker office in nearby Bairnsdale, operated by another owner, which performs very well. Importantly, there are strong ties between all the offices, and this enhances our presence in this key regional market.”

Lakes Entrance and Metung are geographically close; however, each town offers something unique, and each has benefited from improved connectivity and local infrastructure.

Lakes Entrance appeals to those looking for an energetic, beachside lifestyle with access to surf, shops and family-friendly amenities, while Metung offers a more boutique, tranquil experience that is perfect for those seeking a premium lakeside retreat.

Ms Wyndham-Martin credited lead agent Lorraine Edlington with helping them with their success with of LJ Hooker Paynesville. She has mentored agents Nick Adams and Al Orellana will be working in the Lakes Entrance and Metung area. They will also look to add property management and explore acquisition opportunities in the area.

“Our preference is typically organic growth, as it allows us to build strong personal relationships with landlords from the outset and ensure our service standards are consistently high,” Ms Wyndham-Martin said.

“Our success in Paynesville reinforces that locals value the professionalism and marketing power that comes with a respected national brand like LJ Hooker. We are thrilled to have Nick and Al in the new office, who bring fresh enthusiasm and a strong commitment to growing our footprint in this beautiful region.”
