After five years of outstanding operations, Rohullah Paykari, principal of LJ Hooker Dandenong, is leading the network into a new phase of growth in Melbourne’s south-east by launching a second office in the region.
The expansion into nearby Berwick, within the City of Casey, is a strategic move to capture opportunities for residential and commercial sales, as well as boost their current rent roll.
“We are very excited to be building a new business from scratch in an area that is rapidly evolving,” Mr Paykari said.
“There had been an LJ Hooker office in Berwick for many decades, but it closed a little while ago. The town is popular for people looking for space away from the city, and while it has a quieter, country feel, it comes with all the conveniences of metro living.
“There are also affordable new housing estates in nearby suburbs such as Clyde North and Officer, which adds to its appeal.”
Mr Paykari joined the LJ Hooker network as a salesperson before opening his own franchise office in Dandenong in 2020. Despite Melbourne’s rolling series of lockdowns, he led the business to an impressive 205 sales in its first year of operations, worth around $150 million. During time, his team size doubled from six to 13.
Today, Mr Paykari employs 22 people and will be looking to further increase staff numbers with the opening of a new Berwick office. The business will initially commence remotely while looking for shopfront premises.
Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, congratulated Mr Paykari on his accomplishments over the past five years and the decision to expand to a second location.

LJ Hooker Dandenong has also been attracting prestige listings in the area, an opportunity not given to many agencies. It is a market they are keen to continue to work in, along with increasing general residential and commercial sales, as well as property management.

“It has been hard work getting to this point, and I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved and looking forward to the next chapter of the business.”
