From start-up to double offices: LJ Hooker expands in Sydney’s north-west corridor
Almost six years after joining the LJ Hooker network as a remote agent, Sanjeev Kumar is preparing to officially open his second office.
Now employing 16 staff members in Sydney’s northwest, LJ Hooker Schofields is expanding to additional new premises in nearby Riverstone. The move coincides with Mr Kumar signing a five-year renewal with Australia’s most iconic real estate brand.
“LJ Hooker helped me to become a leader by teaching me how to grow a great team, build relationships and recruit the right people,” Mr Kumar said.
“When we started, it was just me and my wife Eshna; we never thought we would reach this size or look after rentals, but that is what the brand helped us to achieve. We’ve had many ‘pinch-me’ moments along this journey.”
Head of Network Australia, Christopher Keating, congratulated Mr Kumar and the LJ Hooker Schofields team on their success in Sydney’s dynamic and rapidly growing north-west corridor.
The business uniquely started as a remote model, which was trialled by the network in January 2020. Just a year later, Mr Kumar signed his first franchise agreement and opened a shopfront office in Schofields, achieving a high turnover of sales and quickly expanding into property management.
“We pride ourselves on partnering with the right people in key markets, and this is a great example,” Mr Keating said.
“Sanjeev and his team are incredibly hardworking, and their success reflects their unwavering commitment to excellence and serving their local community.
“Their dedication to the brand has been exceptional, and this strategic expansion is both well-deserved and perfectly timed. The north-west growth corridor has become a hotspot for families, investors and new development, and LJ Hooker will be there leading the way.”
Mr Kumar has moved his team and property management to their new office in Riverstone, with the official launch of the new office scheduled for January.
Agent Bradey Milledge, 27, who has been promoted to director, will run the Schofields office, which also includes teams working in Marsden Park and Quakers Hill.
While separate locations, together they will operate as LJ Hooker Schofields|Riverstone, with the new premises providing scope for further recruitment and growth.
“Without giving too much away, I think our culture is what sets us apart from other businesses – we have a great team and a strong work ethic,” Mr Kumar said.
“LJ Hooker gave me the belief to open my own business. We were also given good territory to grow our business. There’s no battling it out with other offices; instead, we have developed a strong rapport with other agents and valuable support within the network.”
