LJ Hooker and Humpty Dumpty forging productive partnership
Since 2016, LJ Hooker has donated more than $915,000 to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, Australia’s largest non-government charitable supplier of children’s medical equipment and health initiatives.
These funds have helped deliver 117 pieces of essential equipment to hospitals and health services across Australia — including in regional, rural and remote communities — ensuring critical support reaches the children who need it most.
Through this partnership, 69 hospitals have been supported, with donations mapped to LJ Hooker offices so that local fundraising directly benefits local families.
“The equipment helps babies and children receive urgent care closer to home, reducing the need for long and stressful hospital transfers,” said Humpty Dumpty Head of Fundraising and Partnerships Gina Grimaldi. “It also strengthens a hospital’s ability to respond to life-threatening emergencies and plays a vital role in closing the healthcare gap for rural and First Nations communities.
“Every LJ Hooker team member contributes to this effort, forming part of a movement that is changing and saving children’s lives every day.”
In 2024, LJ Hooker donated a Radical-7 Pulse CO-Oximeter to Ipswich Hospital, in Queensland’s southeast. This 3-in-1 device can be used as a bedside, handheld or transport monitor. By shining a light through a baby’s finger or toe, the oximeter measures the amount of oxygen in their capillaries. The oximeter sounds an alarm at the slightest change in oxygen levels, allowing life-saving action to be taken to prevent damage to organs such as the brain, lungs and eyes.
“On behalf of everyone on the Children's Sunshine Ward (5B) at Ipswich Hospital, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to LJ Hooker for its generous donation of a pulse oximeter to our ward,” said Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant Eme Greene (pictured, left).
“Your support plays a crucial role in ensuring that we can continue to provide the highest standard of care to our young patients.
“This equipment will significantly aid in monitoring vital signs and improving the health outcomes for the children in our care.”
