LJ Hooker builds momentum in Central Queensland with Gladstone rebrand

Ron and Lissa LJ Hooker GladstoneLJ Hooker has broadened its reach in the Central Queensland market with the rebranding and expansion of a prominent Gladstone agency, further strengthening its presence in the popular regional coastal market.

A new era has begun for the former Professionals Gladstone, which, after nearly a decade of local operation, has officially joined the LJ Hooker network, marking an exciting new chapter of opportunity and growth.

Ron English and Lissa Holgate said the team was excited to join the LJ Hooker family.

“As there hadn’t been an LJ Hooker agency in Gladstone for a few years, the timing was perfect,” said Ms Holgate. “The stars aligned — we were ready for a change.”

Mr English added, “Becoming part of LJ Hooker gives us access to an incredible suite of industry-leading tools, technology, training, marketing and support. Most importantly, LJ Hooker’s long-standing reputation and values align beautifully with ours: service, accountability and growth.

“It’s about enhancing what we already do so well — serving our community with integrity and energy — but now with the power of a name that’s been synonymous with trust and innovation for nearly a century,” he said.

Gladstone, regarded as the ‘Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef’, is a region poised for continued growth and prosperity.

Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, welcomed Ron, Lissa and the Gladstone team to LJ Hooker.

“This is an exciting new chapter for LJ Hooker in Gladstone, led by a highly experienced and passionate team that truly understands their local market,” he said.

The Gladstone region is experiencing strong momentum, supported by major infrastructure projects, including the Bruce Highway duplication, renewable energy and hydrogen developments, and the Boyne Tannum Aquatic Recreation Centre.

“There’s strong momentum building across regional Australia and Gladstone is a perfect example of that shift,” said LJ Hooker Head of Growth Jarita Rayasam. “It’s fantastic to see experienced leaders like Ron and Lissa channel their local insight and ambition into a future-focused partnership with LJ Hooker.”

Residential land releases across Tannum Sands, Boyne Island and Benaraby are helping to meet demand, with affordability, lifestyle appeal and excellent rental yields (around 5.5%) driving investor interest. Vacancy rates remain among the lowest in Central Queensland at around 0.8–1%.

“Our communities are growing through families relocating for coastal living, professionals tied to major industry projects and investors recognising the value in our region,” said Ms Holgate.

“Yet, despite that growth, we maintain a tight-knit, down-to-earth culture. Our team lives and breathes this region — from sunrise walks on Tannum Beach to fishing the Boyne River — and we bring that same grounded, community-first approach to everything we do.”

Mr English added, “We’re not just in real estate; we’re in the business of helping people find their place in the world. Gladstone and its surrounds offer the sunshine, space and lifestyle people are looking for, and we’re proud to be part of making that happen.”
