New beachside base to enhance LJ Hooker’s Central Coast reach
Australia’s most iconic real estate brand has strengthened its presence on the New South Wales Central Coast with LJ Hooker Budgewoi |Toukley purchasing new commercial premises and renewing its franchise agreement.
Owners Damian and Rebecca Montgomery have a longstanding connection with the LJ Hooker network. In 2004, the couple helped to establish LJ Hooker Toukley and in 2020, they acquired LJ Hooker Budgewoi. Two years later, they merged both offices to better serve the growing Central Coast market.
“We are so proud of our new premises, located right in the heart of beachside Budgewoi, which will start an exciting new chapter for the business,” Mrs Montgomery said.
“We’re currently working through council approvals for an exciting renovation that will transform the space into a fresh, modern office designed to reflect the professionalism of our team and the vibrant coastal community we serve.”
The Central Coast remains a popular destination for a range of buyers, including families, retirees and investors drawn by the region’s attractive lifestyle, growing economy and proximity to Sydney.
Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, said it has become an integral region for the brand, due to its affordability and significant potential to deliver affordable housing. LJ Hooker also currently has offices in Gosford and Terrigal, as well as an increasing presence further north around the Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie.
“The Central Coast offers something for everyone, delivering affordability for first home buyers to multimillion-dollar luxury beachfront mansions, and its growth potential is massive, making it a key market for us,” Mr Keating said.
“Damian and Rebecca are long-term locals who have detailed first-hand knowledge area and are passionate about growing their business and their community.
“Moving into prominent new premises is an exciting and strategic step in a competitive market. It will provide space for operations, client meetings and importantly further increase brand visibility.”
After working with a local independent agency, Mr and Mrs Montgomery joined LJ Hooker because of its strong franchise support, broader reach and innovative tools.
“What attracted us to the brand was that it allowed us to serve our local community but still have our own personal touch,” Mrs Montgomery said.
“It means we can offer the power and innovation of a national brand while building genuine relationships with our clients, delivering honest advice and utilising technology to achieve outstanding results.”
Infrastructure projects such as the completed $348m Gosford Hospital redevelopment and continuing M1 motorway upgrades are improving connectivity to Sydney and Newcastle, adding to the Central Coast’s appeal.
“Investors appreciate the strong rental yields, low vacancy rates and growth potential, while the strong sense of community makes it a desirable location for long-term renters,” Mr Montgomery said.
“So, it is a market not just focused on sales, but with strong interest from tenants and investors, we are also keen to continue to expand the rent roll side of the business.”
