Alignment of values: successful agency rebrands to LJ Hooker

LJ Hooker Alliance Group

A prominent Sydney agency is joining the LJ Hooker network in a strategic move designed to accelerate its next phase of growth, while honouring the legacy of Australia’s most iconic real estate brand.

After more than two decades, Directors Michael Ferguson, Lachelle Ferguson and Kathleen Fairweather, along with Nima Aliasgary (as Sales Director), are transitioning their business from Ray White to LJ Hooker, marking an exciting new chapter for the agency and its offices in Forestville and Narrabeen.

The partnership is expected to drive greater operational efficiency through access to network-level supplier agreements and LJ Hooker’s integrated technology ecosystem. It will also reduce overheads and allow the business to reinvest in its people and clients, delivering greater value and an enhanced customer experience.

“We wanted a partner that would provide strong marketing, technology, training and business support while empowering our team to strive for growth and exceptional service,” Mr Ferguson said.

“The LJ Hooker team struck a balance between being highly professional and genuinely approachable. Their commitment to building a dynamic, collaborative brand, where every role plays a vital part in our overall success, was inspiring. The new look and vibrant energy surrounding the brand resonated strongly with us.”

Stephan Gervois, General Manager, welcomed Mr Ferguson, Mrs Ferguson, Mrs Fairweather, Mr Aliasgary, and their two offices to the network, which will operate as LJ Hooker Alliance Group.

“Their decision to join LJ Hooker after more than two decades with another network is a strong endorsement of the direction of our brand and the value we offer ambitious business owners,” Mr Gervois said.

“Today’s agency principals want more than a recognisable name. They want a network that can help them improve efficiency, build market share, develop their people and create sustainable growth, without losing the local identity and entrepreneurial spirit that made their business successful.”

“That is what we are building at LJ Hooker: a modern, collaborative network backed by an iconic Australian brand, where business owners and agents have access to the technology, marketing, training and support they need to perform at their best.”

Mr Gervois said the partnership would strengthen LJ Hooker’s presence across two important Sydney markets while creating new opportunities for local real estate professionals.

“Businesses of this calibre make our entire network stronger. Michael, Lachelle, Kathleen and Nima, along with their dedicated teams, bring professionalism, integrity, outstanding leadership and a genuine client-first culture, all qualities that align closely with LJ Hooker,” he said.

“Their decision demonstrates what is possible when an established local business combines its market knowledge and relationships with the scale, systems and support of a national network.”

“For high-performing agents, emerging leaders and established agency owners considering their next move, LJ Hooker offers the opportunity to grow within a brand that values collaboration, ambition and individual success.”

For Mrs Fairweather, the rebranding has a special significance, having purchased her first home in Australia with her late husband Brian, through LJ Hooker back in 2003.

Mr Fairweather established himself as a top agent in the area and, in 2012, joined forces with Michael & Lachelle Ferguson with Ray White Killarney Heights and Ray White Narraweena working together as one strong team. He passed away in early 2025, leaving behind a successful team and a community he deeply valued.

“Our focus has been to honour what Brian created while continuing to build for the future,” Mrs Fairweather said.

“We have remained committed to the same principles that guided Brian’s approach – genuine relationships, exceptional service and being part of the community.

“The connection with LJ Hooker is particularly meaningful as the brand played an important role in the early development of Killarney Heights, selling land that established the suburb – so in many ways it is a welcomed homecoming.”

LJ Hooker Alliance Group has outlined four objectives over the next 12 months, focusing on market leadership, operational excellence, rent roll growth and team development. This includes optimising its database and CRM systems to ensure seamless client communication and greater operational efficiency.

“We want to successfully execute our rebranding and amplify our presence across the Northern Beaches and the Forestville area,” Mr Ferguson said.

“We will also be empowering some of our experienced agents to step into lead roles, supported by our associate team, to further enhance our service capacity.”

Mr Gervois said the business’s focus on leadership development reflected LJ Hooker’s broader commitment to creating meaningful career pathways across its network.

“Attracting talented people is important but giving them the support and opportunity to build lasting careers is what creates truly successful businesses,” he said.

“We want our offices to be places where experienced agents can reach the next level, emerging professionals can learn from strong leaders and ambitious people can see a clear future for themselves.”
