LJ Hooker strengthens brand in Brisbane’s affordable fringe suburbs

LJHBrownsPlains_teamsLJ Hooker is expanding its reach to Brisbane’s outer suburbs with a long-established agency in a growing and popular market, joining the iconic real estate network.

After a decade as Century 21 Browns Plains principal, Bala Rajan has rebranded his business under LJ Hooker. For Bala, it’s a strategic move to increase market share and expand rent roll.

“We want to leverage national brand strength, trusted systems, and industry-leading tools, which, when combined with our local knowledge and hands-on approach, will be a successful combination,” Bala said.

“It was time for a change, and this will enable us to provide our community with the highest level of service and results in real estate. LJ Hooker is a brand that people know and trust, and its values reflect our own. We operate as a family, supporting one another, united by a shared goal and a commitment to have a client-first approach in everything we do.”

Browns Plains is situated in the north-west of Logan City, and approximately 24 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Together with surrounding suburbs, the area has experienced steady growth driven by affordability in comparison to Brisbane’s inner-city. It is also attracting ongoing infrastructure and development.

Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, said partnering with businesses with proven experience and local knowledge is essential in creating a strong real estate brand across the country.

“We are excited to welcome Bala and his team, who are well-established within a high-growth and rapidly evolving market, to the LJ Hooker network,” he said.

“They are ready to take their business to the next level, and we have the support systems, training, technology and marketing resources to take this journey with them.

“There is momentum in the Brisbane market as we head towards the 2032 Olympic Games, and it is not just in the CBD but also in more outer affordable areas. These suburbs are attracting first-home buyers, downsizers, young families and investors looking for long-term capital growth.”

Discussing this addition to the LJ Hooker Network was Head of Growth Jarita Rayasam.

“Bala’s decision to join our network reflects the kind of ambition and community focus that drives sustainable growth, both for his team and for the clients they serve across Brisbane’s evolving suburbs.”

LJ Hooker Browns Plains will also service Regents Park, Boronia Heights, Hillcrest, Drewvale, Munruben, Park Ridge and Park Ridge South.

Detached family homes in the area are priced from $600,000 to $900,000, and townhouses/apartments are priced from $550,000 to $700,000. There is strong rental demand for three/four-bedroom homes as well as modern units.

In addition to sales, Bala said he and his team are focused on increasing their rent roll by maintaining strong engagement with both landlords and tenants.

“We prioritise communication because we believe that transparency is key to building long-term relationships with clients,” he said.

“We don’t just rely on sending out emails. If there are any issues, we want people to know that they can call us, and someone will answer the phone; this is one of our points of difference and it is something we know our clients appreciate.”
